We were commisioned by repeat customers to revitalise a tired and old storage area their home near the Botanical Gardens in S10.
We built a floor to ceiling timber framework and produced the whole wall of flush, painted cabinet doors. The doors were manufactured from sheet material and spray finished in our spraybooth in a Farrow and Ball ‘London Clay’ colour.
These modern and flush doors gave us a great starting point to realise the customers concept of a ‘pair of live branches sweeping up the wall’ a visually striking piece of sculpture also acting as functional handles.
We produced a few dimensioned sketches and then settled on a final design, and began the manufacture of the bespoke steel work.
We used mild steel tubes and hand formed these to create the organic sweeping branches, then welded the seams and finished them in a durable Black powder coat finish.
We also manufactured a Solid Oak ladder to access the higher cabinets, which can be moved across the front of the cabinets to suit . Hidden fasteners were used to fix the handles onto the flush doors.
