PJ Taste is a progressive and unique catering company, Peter and John are the founders and they have a huge passion for foraging, locally sourced produce and sustainabilty.
We took inspiration from these values and proposed a totally new concept for the staircase handrails to their new venue space in Sheffield.
Using Ash timber sourced from Peter’s plot and our own woodland, we worked with the unusual shapes and kinks of the wood allowing it to flow naturally up and through the building.
All pieces were installed with a construction grade resin and threaded rod, hidden behind natural Ash plugs and have become one with the branches, hardly distinguishable to the naked eye.
'“We are very proud of our ash stair rail which was developed and installed by Ollie and his team. Virtually every guest and visitor comments on it when they arrive in the building, its striking originality, excellent finish and workmanship being unavoidable!
We felt working with Ollie was a collaborative affair, with our ideas being cleverly interpreted. Ollie delivered the project to time and budget taking care to have the minimum impact on our on-going business."
The event space was opened by the Right Workshipful Lord Mayor of Sheffield, Ollie is shown pictured with Councillor Anne Murphy as she admires the Craftsmanship.
Later Ollie was awarded a Sheffield City Civic Award for his outstanding achievements in the field of Carpentry and Craftsmanship on this project.
